Dog sitting

I dog sat recently. Just thought I'd show you how well behaved they can be and how darn cute they are. Left to right Hazel, Sila, Hardy, Jolli, Hoover, and Cookie in the back.

And I love this picture of Hoover looking distinguished. Sweet old boy.

Cookie's success

This Sunday Cookie took Best in Sweeps at the Vizsla Club of Long Island specialty. Of course the battery died on the camera just as Cookie was in the ring, so I missed the whole thing in photos. When I get the professional show photo, I'll post it. I'm in it, and looked horrible, I'm sure, but I don't care! I'm just happy for our little Cookie!

Pound puppy

I fell in love with a dog at the Hartford Dog Pound. He looks almost exactly like a male version of a dog we had growing up. Her name was Termite and we had to put her to sleep at 19 years old. The top picture is of her on our last day with her, the bottom picture is of the pound dog.


This poor little guy's legal day of adoption is this friday. It is the first day he can be brought home to a waiting family (if there is one), and the first day he can be put to sleep. They only get 10 days from the day they arrive!

Handling

I handled for the first time at the Springfield supported entry in November. I showed Elmo, Cookie's dad. I was very nervous! This coming Sunday I will be showing again. This time it will be possibly Cookie in sweeps, and 1 or 2 other times, depending on what happens. I will let you know. Wish me luck. Last time, in Fitchburg, I got so nervous, my back almost blew out and I could barely move. Amazing how stress effects the body.

I'm back!

It has been so long since I posted. So much has happened, but I'll spare you the details. Cookie did, however, win her first 3 points for a major and BOS win in Lehigh Pennsylvania! We are very proud of Cookie winning in only her second weekend out. Her picture, however, is completely aweful! Carol says that good wins make bad photos, so I'll post it anyway!

Cookie's back!

After 2 weeks away, Cookie is finally home. She went with Carol to do some lead/show training and Carol's dog, Jello, stayed with us for some socialization. Though we enjoyed having Jello here, we are glad to have Cookie home. Well, except maybe Jarrod. Cookie was so happy to see Sila that she peed on the floor and was still tinkling alittle when she jumped up on Jarrod's lap. Needless to say, he wasn't too happy, but he'll get over it.

Sila's Birthday Party

On Saturday we had Sila's 2nd birthday Party. We had 15 vizslas total at our house. We had a lot of fun and really lucked out with the weather. Left to right are Jan and Obie, Susan (Sila's breeder) her dog Jolli and Sila's mom Hazel, me and Sila (I know, I'm not very photogenic!)
